Chasing Light
A Bali Photography Journey
Five days shooting rice terraces, sacred temples, volcanic skies & everything in between
AUD $3410 - Single Supplement or AUD $2970 - Twin share
Arrival in Ubud
Bamboo forest · Balinese dancer · Fireflies
Your journey begins the moment you land. After a private transfer through lush countryside to Ubud, we wander the ethereal bamboo groves of Delodsema Village. As golden hour descends, capture dramatic portraits of a Balinese dancer — then end the night chasing fireflies beneath a canopy of stars. The perfect welcome to the island.
Rice Terraces & the Milky Way
Sunrise · Luwak coffee · Kintamani · Astrophotography
Rise before the sun for golden-hour photography over the mist-laden Mancingan Rice Terraces. Refuel with a rare Luwak coffee tasting at Cantik Agriculture, then settle in for our Milky Way photography workshop. At dusk, shoot the dramatic caldera of Lake Batur — then, after dinner beneath an open sky, wait for the cosmos to reveal itself above the black lava fields of Kintamani (weather permitting).
Fog, Waterfalls & Sacred Lakes
Pinggan village · Banyu Mana waterfall · Lake Tamblingan
If the mountain gods cooperate, morning fog rolls through Pinggan Village at dawn — one of Bali's most spellbinding natural phenomena. We journey on to the hidden Banyu Mana Amertha Waterfall for long-exposure photography amongst the jungle. The afternoon brings our second staged dancer shoot, set against the mystical Lake Tamblingan and the ancient Pura Ulun Danu temple, followed by an optional astrophotography session under the stars.
Temples, Terraces & Tanah Lot
Ulun Danu Beratan · Jatiluwih UNESCO terraces · Sunset sea temple
Begin at the iconic water temple of Ulun Danu Beratan, its tiered pagodas seemingly floating on morning mist. We then wind through the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces — sweeping emerald landscapes perfect for drone work and wide compositions, with optional trekking trails through the paddies. The day peaks at Tanah Lot, where Bali's most legendary sea temple rises from crashing surf at golden hour.
Uluwatu & Farewell by the Sea
Photo review · Balangan beach · Kecak fire dance · Jimbaran dinner
The final full day is as much celebration as it is craft. A morning photo review and Q&A lets you revisit your best images and lock in final techniques, before a village walk and street photography session through local streets. The evening crescendos with the hypnotic Kecak fire dance at clifftop Uluwatu Temple, then closes with a barefoot farewell dinner on the candlelit sands of Jimbaran Bay.
